About Everyday Strong

Strength for the Realities of Life 

Everyday Strong is a holistic strength and movement coaching practice dedicated to helping you move better and live more capably. I believe that through proper education, programming, stress management, movement, and strength coaching anyone can become the best version of themselves.

While I work with anyone motivated to improve their movement and function, I specialize in helping those navigating complex health journeys including cancer survivors, geriatric clients, and individuals living with chronic pain. 

I also provide specialized coaching for performers in high-impact worlds like stunts, inline rollerblading, and acrobatics, helping athletes build the resilience needed for extreme movement.

Bridging the Gap 

Many of our clients come to us because they need more than a standard personal trainer. Perhaps you’ve been discharged from physical therapy but don’t feel ready for a big-box gym, or you’re managing a long-term illness that requires a more nuanced approach to exercise. With John’s background as a former Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), we provide the bridge between clinical care and functional fitness.

MY MISSION

I strive to teach my clients how to integrate movement into their lifestyle and to empower them to take ownership of their fitness.

My “Graduation” Philosophy 

Success at Everyday Strong is measured by your independence. I am not  looking for lifelong clients. I am looking to create lifelong movers. While I am happy to work with those who want a long-term coaching relationship, my focus is on helping you gain total ownership of your movement . I will teach you the “why” behind your program so that you leave with the education and the confidence to manage your own fitness.

Meet John Perez

The Bridge Between Performance and Recovery

I offer a perspective on movement that few can match. With over 15 years as a professional athlete, my resume includes work as a stunt performer, dancer, and acrobat. This background gives me a deep, personal understanding of how the body moves, how it breaks, and how it thrives.

Clinical Experience

I am a retired Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) who spent his career in Texas working across diverse settings including aquatic therapy, outpatient clinics, and sports rehab. My experience in rehab allowed me to work with a variety of conditions, ranging from spinal cord injury to elite athlete rehabilitation.

A Career Built on Movement

My knowledge is lived experience. I have spent more than 15 years as a professional athlete in worlds where movement must be precise. I have competed and/or worked professionally as a:

  • Stunt Performer 
  • Dancer 
  • Acrobat 
  • Aggressive Inline Blader 

The Strength of a Teacher

One of my greatest strengths is my ability to teach. I have spent over 10 years teaching, including my time as a Breaking (breakdance) Professor and Acrobatics Instructor at the School for the Performing Arts in Puerto Rico.

I have led workshops and served as a guest teacher globally, teaching movement from stunt work to strength training. I also regularly lead rollerblading workshops for people of all ages, helping bladers of all levels improve their skills and confidence on their wheels.

We build programs specifically for your needs. We are also willing to work directly with your medical care team to ensure a safe and effective exercise plan.

Adaptive Movement Education

We teach you to adjust your training based on your energy levels, chronic pain flares, lifestyle changes, sport demands, or simply how you feel that specific day. This ensures that strength becomes a sustainable part of your actual life rather than just an hour in the gym.

Health Ownership Coaching

We help you build the confidence to navigate complex health struggles. This includes helping you frame the right questions for your next doctor’s visit so you can advocate for the care you deserve.
